Peer-to-Peer Renewable Energy – Indonesia

Peer-to-Peer Renewable Energy – Indonesia

What we did:
BCI developed and deployed a blockchain-based platform to support decentralized energy sharing, enhance energy access, and address affordability gaps.
How we did it:
In collaboration with local stakeholders and the Innovate UK Energy Catalyst (Round 8), BCI’s Research Division II implemented a real-time, transparent energy exchange system layered over a microgrid PV infrastructure.
The Results:
The pilot delivered electricity access to off-grid communities and demonstrated how blockchain can power equitable, peer-owned energy systems — creating a replicable model for decentralized rural electrification.

This is the kind of practical tech we need — clean energy, owned and shared by the community, built with accountability in mind.

Let’s Work Together
